 2027 Powder Ridge Ski League

Looking for a fun way to spend your Wednesday nights this winter? Come race with us at Powder Ridge! Whether you’ve been racing for years, haven’t been in the gates for a while, or have never tried ski racing before, the Powder Ridge Ski League is all about getting out on the snow, having some friendly competition, and having a great time.

We race Giant Slalom on Wednesday nights, starting in early January and continuing as long as Mother Nature gives us snow to race on. We’ll also mix things up with a race on a Saturday evening, followed by live music, making for an even better excuse to spend a winter night at Powder Ridge.

Each race night, we set a Giant Slalom course and give everyone plenty of chances to attack the gates. Your fastest time from your first three timed runs is used for scoring. And thanks to our handicap system, a few extra birthdays might actually make you faster, at least on the results sheet!

Powder Ridge racers will also have the opportunity to participate in the Midwest Race League Championship at Mt. La Crosse, Wisconsin, on February 26 and 27, 2027. Check out the Midwest Race League Website for more information.
  1. All ages and experience levels of skiers. We have had a wide range of skill levels racing in the league in the past. We welcome everyone, from experienced ski racers to recreational skiers who have never raced before.
  2. We can provide guidance for anyone who needs a refresher on how to ski in a race course, whether you’re just a little rusty or have never done it before.
  3. The main goal is to get out skiing and just have a good time.

When:

  1. Wednesday evenings (and a Saturday) from the beginning of January onward.
  2. Meet at Chester’s Bar and Grill at 6 PM, or come directly out for course setup beginning at 6:30 PM.
  3. Ski racing begins at 7 PM. We typically go until everyone gets at least three runs in. If you can get more runs in before we are done, more fun for you.
  4. The first night will be January 6th, 2027. We are hoping to host a practice prior, but no timing will be included for that night.
  5. We will host every Wednesday as long as the snow will allow. Typically, we get 1-2 more nights than most leagues in the area.
  6. Results are handed out in Chester’s afterward or emailed out after the race.

Cost:

  1. Powder Ridge has done an exceptional job of keeping our season fees to only $50 per person! This can be paid at the ski school desk. Waivers are also signed at the ski school desk at that time.
  2. Lift tickets are NOT included. Evening lift tickets at Powder Ridge are $35 or purchase a season pass that can be used anytime.

What is needed:

1. Helmet
2. Skis/Snowboard – Race skis are not required.
3. Good attitude
