Well it's finally starting to look like Christmas here at Powder Ridge, the weather has turned for some very good snowmaking and we just received 6 inches of great light snow. With the forecast of colder night temps we will be able to get the rest of the hill open soon. We will continually post our progress on our web site home page so please check it out.
The Powder Ridge family wishes your family a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and we hope you are able to visit us for some skiing, boarding or tubing soon.

Due to the poor weather conditions we have had, we will be closed through Thursday and reopening for skiing and snowboarding Friday Dec. 18th at 10 am. It looks like we will be able to begin snowmaking again Wednesday night. We want to be able to touch-up the present runs we have had open as well as continue to make snow on new runs. Please keep checking here for updates. Thank you for patience during this strange stretch of weather.

Snowtubing is not open at this time. Our goal it to get tubing open for Christmas break but that all depends on the weather. We will keep you updated here on the home page.

Drones are the cool new thing and it sounds like many will be given as gifts this winter. We think they are cool too but unfortunately most ski areas (Powder Ridge included) cannot allow them on or over our property. The reason is a safety issue. Imagine if you're skiing down a run and a drone distracts you and you run into something (or someone) or one startles someone on a chairlift and they fall or if one actually hits someone. The safety of our guests is always a prime concern of ours and drones and their operators are an uncontrollable factor that represent an unacceptable risk. We hope drone owners enjoy them and take a lot of great pictures - it just can't be here at Powder Ridge.

I made up a new word! Fallinter (n): when the leaves are still falling but I can't stop thinking about SNOW!

We had a super great turnout and time at our 1st Season Pass Holder Party this past Saturday! We had live music, an awesome appetizer buffet (it seriously never stopped coming..), drink specials and free pop and some really cool door prizes! It really was such a nice atmosphere to celebrate the upcoming season in Chester's with music, families and some familiar employee faces. We will definitely be doing it again next FALLINTER (ha.)!

Our newly remodeled ski shop was selling the new PR gear fast all day! Make sure you check it out on our FB page and get your stuff ASAP! We revived an old logo PR logo and it looks super're going to want everything. I know I did...and now I have everything...oops.

Season Pass sales go to FULL PRICE on NOVEMBER 1st! Get it now! Do not say I didn't warn you...I've spent a lot of time warning you...

Remember to keep checking our PR website, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram to stay up-to-date on weather conditions, snowmaking and OPENING DATE information. Time is flying by and you'll be out here on the snow in no time! Stay in the know so you don't miss a single second of the season!

I wish I had more to say (personally, I have a ton to say...just ask my husband) but there is work to be done out here before we see you again!

Yours truly,

As I write, I am looking out onto the still green hills of Single Cedar but I can see the fall colors creeping into the trees all over the hill. Fall is upon us, Halloween decorations are coming out and there is a perfect, brisk chill in the evening air. We are starting to get things going out here at The Ridge and everyone is getting excited for the upcoming season. Just wanted to write a quick blog to keep everyone up-to-date of new events, deals and projects we are working on out here!

Season Passes go to FULL PRICE on November 1st so if you haven't gotten your family, college or regular season pass yet...please don't wait! You can order right online, upload your own picture and we will mail it out to you. Couldn't be easier to be ready when the snow flies!

We have a lot of new specials this season including Family Days, Snowtubing Season Passes, a College Kick Off Party, Support Our Troops day, and a super sweet Valentine's Day Special...check it out on the website!

Adventure Swap is October 24th! Equipment check-in starts at 9am and the sale begins at 11am! Come upgrade your gear and help out the PR Ski Patrol!

New merchandise is going to make you look like the coolest kid in class...the Ski Shop is where it's at for the latest PR fashion.

Powder Ridge is going to be having a booth in Crossroads for the holiday season...please come by and say hello to us!

For new projects, we are upgrading our fire pit in front of the main chalet and we are upgrading all of our equipment this year in the rental shop! Only the best for you!

We really want to integrate YOUR selfies, photos, etc. this winter so remember to TAG Powder Ridge and use #powderridge and #ridetheparks all winter long to see if you are featured on our Twitter, Instagram, Facebook or website.

Finally, follow us on all social media to win prizes all throughout the season..

We cannot wait for this winter to get started and to see you out here soon!

If you haven't thought about a family pass before you should think about it this season. The difference between the family pass rate and three or even two individual passes is not very much and it will only take a few trips out to make it worth while. On top of the that everyone in the family pass will get the Value Added Bonus Card but the Bonus Cards go away at the end of September. Check it out but act fast time is running out.

The countdown to purchase your 2015-2016 Season Pass is underway. Prices on all passes go up October 1st and the early buy Bonus Card goes away.
Great reasons to get a Season Pass:

1. Come out and ski or board anytime you want (when we are open of course).
2. Ability to come out for as long or as short of time you want. Only have an hour or two but just want to get some fresh air and runs in, do it.
3. Season Pass holders get discounts at other great ski areas.
4. Added value specials throughout the season for pass holders only.
5. It's FUN!
The Powder Ridge family is looking forward to having you join us this winter, see you soon.

We have never before offered a tubing season pass at Powder Ridge but there's a first time for everything. The tubing pass is priced at $75 but we will be selling them through November for $60. Tubing tickets are $15 this season so at $75 it's 5 visits to break even and at the early rate it's 4 times. This is a picture pass and is good for the named pass holder only. With the pass you are eligible to get one 2 hour tubing ticket any day we are open to the public, please check our Tubing page for those hours. Tubing season passes can be purchased on our web site store.

On August 22nd & 23rd Archery Country will be hosting their first annual event on the runs here at Powder Ridge. If your into archery this will be the place to be. Event time is 8 am to 4 pm each day and there is no preregistration.

Season passes are on sale at our online store now thru the end of September.

Well Summer is flying by (way to fast for me) and the fall is just around the corner. This means that our season pass sale is going on with the lowest rates of the season now through the end of September. We have again teamed up with PayPal to offer financing on all purchases over $99. This is only available through our online store and is done at the time of checkout.
New this season is the Family Winter Fun Pass for 4 family members (additional members can be added) for only $800 through September 30th. all passes purchased through September will also receive a value add punch card with up to a $100, only through September though. Check our web site for all of the details.
We look forward to seeing you this winter here at "The Ridge". I know it's a long ways away and thinking about snow right now doesn't seem quite right.
Be safe and have a great Summer.
